The International Online Medical Conference (IOMC 2009) is the second Online Conference on Medicine and will take place on March 14 and 15, 2009. It aims to provide a forum for discussing and presenting research findings, studies, and experiences in the field of medicine; to create an opportunity for medical, nursing, and pharmaceutical/pharmacology researchers, students, professors, physicians, practitioners, researchers, executives, scientists, specialists, and activists to meet each other online and share their research papers; and to provide the prospect of finding new research colleagues and partners for future research work.

An International Advisory Committee (IAC), comprising international experts and Medical Professors, guide the development of the conference program and agenda.

All accepted conference papers will be published in the conference proceeding electronically by a well-known international publisher under a US ISBN. In addition, the printed Proceedings Book will also be available.

There are several awards, including Best Paper Award, Best Student Paper Award, and Best Presentation Award.

The conference has a Students’ Board that welcomes more involvement from medical students, and encourages them to submit their research work, reports, and papers to the conference. The Conference Students Board (CSB) will oversee the increased involvement of students in this unique event, and will guide them with paper submissions and other inquiries.

The OnLine English mission is to assist academics and researchers from non-English speaking backgrounds to publish in English.

In pursuit of this mission, we draw a clear distinction between this service and the provision of inappropriate levels of assistance to students in their preparation of work for assessment.

The purpose of this document is to clarify the distinction between the editing service OnLine English can provide to students and the unethical provision of scholarly input to student papers.

We at OnLine English commit ourselves to the following ethical standards.

Editing vs re-writing
OnLine English is primarily an editing service rather than a rewriting service. The reasons for this are explained on our website as OnLine English editing principles .

OnLine English clients retain full responsibility for the content, structure and logic of their documents. Our editors do not make modifications at this level.
OnLine English respects an author's style at all times and does not make unnecessary changes.
If, however, a client has poor English and requires additional assistance, OnLine English will rewrite paragraphs or an entire document, upon request.

OnLine English does not rewrite assessable work for students; that is, we do not accept orders asking that we improve the content, structure or logic of their documents. We believe that it would be wrong for us to do so because these aspects of authorship are normally assumed to be the work of students, for assessment purposes.

However, where written permission from a student's supervisor accompanies such a request, OnLine English will accept the order.

OnLine English does accept orders from students for editing their academic and scientific papers; that is,

for correcting grammatical mistakes and typographic errors, and
imposing a consistent style in spelling, punctuation, and referencing.

When the subject is English
It is the policy of OnLine English not to edit documents that form part of a student's assessment in the subjects of English, English literature or the teaching of English as a Second or Foreign Language.
