The article in English
1. The indefinite article ("a") is used when referring to a common noun in a general sense.
- "A cat is a mammal."
- "Hydrogen is a gas."

The article "a" becomes "an" before a word that begins with a vowel sound: a, e, i, o, u.
- "Hydrogen is an element."

The indefinite article is not used before a plural noun.
- "Cats are mammals."
- "Hydrogen and helium are gases."

2. The definite article ("the") is used when referring to a particular object or person. It is used before both singular and plural nouns.
- "The cat in the picture is black."
- "The cats in the picture are black."

If we are requested to edit only parts of a document, then the guarantee applies only to those parts, as we cannot be responsible for parts that we have not edited.

The guarantee does not apply to documents that are very poorly written; i.e., where we have notified you of the need for heavy-editing surcharges.
